HANGOVER 5 RACE REPORT
1st January 2017 – 11 Flyers Ran
The first run of the year was a little damp and a bit slippery. Those of you who know the run will remember it’s quite tough. Over 430 runners set off, a great start for the league this New Year. We ran around the field, but in the opposite direction to the usual way; which was a far better start. As John B. says, it still seems a long drag past the golf course and up, and up, almost to the top of Cissbury Ring. (Although the worst part of “Cardiac Hill” has been greatly improved) a few more ups and downs, (in the Mud) and then a lovely long run down back to the field for the finish.
Steve K. 37 Mins and 9 points (I don’t know how he does it) led the way for the Flyers, followed by Peter R, Jenny C, Kathy T, Ray C, John B, Chris Day, Me, Jill B, Gerald G. C. and Jane K.
I would like to say a big thank you to Chris, a new Flyer, on his first run for us; who ran with me all the way and rescued me when I decided to go for a Mud Bath. Chris is the Hubby of Jackie, one of Jenny’s newest run group. A fantastic effort by everyone on a cold wet day. I’m sure it will be warmer on Easter Monday in Lewes……… I Hope!!
John Nicel (P.S. I am quite happy to give any runner or supporter who lives in the Storrington area a lift to any of the league runs)
