News for September

Gradually, the racing season is drawing to a close but not before our own Fittleworth Flyers Five (mile) race. This is the highlight of the year for the club.  The usual first Sunday of September, this year the 3rd. It is a scenic 5 mile course through country lanes and woodland bridleway paths around Fittleworth.  It starts  at 11.00 am in Limbourne Lane. We run up through Churchwood, then turn right down towards Limbourne Farm, through Walters Plantation, left at  Stopham Church & up to Harwoods Green where we turn & retrace our steps, this time coming round the back of Stopham Church & finishing where we started. Five miles of an interesting, undulating course which other club runners love, shown by an entry of 400 runners.

Good spectator spots are the start & finish, and the cross roads at Stopham. Don't forget to bring your purse for the famous Flyers cake sale!

For an entry form contact the Race Secretary via our website page Flyers Five Race. The adult race (minimum age 16, no upper limit) costs £5 to enter on the day at the village hall subject to not exceeding permitted race entries.

The junior race (min. age 7, max.15) over 1 mile costs £1 to enter. Starts at 10.15 am. We will be delighted to see more children run this year, especially from the village or the School.

Do come as a runner or spectator to one of these races.
